Title | Letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to John Scott Russell |
Description | Written from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains that Brunel made a mistake in his previous letter and ordered a copy of the lithographs made from the photographs of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship under construction but argues that this does not detract from his main point - that he had to order them himself rather than getting them from Russell. The letter also requests that Russell immediately alter the way the iron rivets are heated so as to ensure that all of the rivet (including the head) is heated. The photographs referred to may have been those commissioned by the Eastern Steam Navigation Company from the firm of Cundall and Howlett as a record of the progress in the construction of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship. |
