| Description | Written from the Eastern Steam Navigation Company, 13 Gresham Street, London. The letter reports a resolution passed at a meeting of the Committee of Works of the Eastern Steam Navigation held on the 21 November. The resolution directs Brunel to satisfy himself as to the amount of remaining work needed to complete the ship before John Scott Russell's proposed launching date at the end of April. The resolution also requests Brunel prepare a statement of the works to be completed each month to complete the whole ship as well as a schedule of prices for the different works. |
