Title | Letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to John Yates, secretary of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company |
Description | Written from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter sends Yates copies of the correspondence that Brunel has had with John Scott Russell about the future payments to be made to Russell. Brunel mentions that he believes it is now time to order the chain cables for the ship in order to have them completed in time and proposes to obtain tenders from the four principal manufacturers. Brunel also mentions that he would recommend buying the small ship boat from Thompson and the lifeboats from White of Cowes. Brunel also recommends the advantages of the Reverend Berthon's plan for making up lifeboat accommodation over that of White's. |
