TitleLetter from John Scott Russell to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from 37 Great George Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains that the only certainty that Russell requires is the assurance that if he continues with his present, large weekly payments for his work on the Great Ship, then he needs to ensure that the money being paid to him comes in a fixed quantity on a fixed day each month in order to allow him to meet his payments. More than this, Russell does not care, as long as the payments are calculated carefully and accurately and are sufficient to keep up with the outgoings.
