| Description | Written from 37 Great George Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains that Russell has ordered iron plates of exactly the dimensions specified by Brunel and the plates have been delivered in the usual manner but promises that he will immediately adopt Brunel's plan. Russell also explains the drop in the rate of fixing and riveting as due to problems caused by the weather, but believes that this will be balanced out during the summer and hopes that things will proceed much more quickly as soon as the plates for the gunwhales are delivered.
