DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains Brunel's wish to gather information as to the greatest depth of immersion of a paddle wheel with fixed boards that a large ocean going steamer can cope with. Brunel lists the specific information that he wants, which is similar to the list of questions he asked of Mr Humphreys of Humphries, Tennant & Dyke and Mr Samuda.
