The letter reports that Mr Martin has visited Russell again about the reduced payment made to Russell for the Eastern Steam Navigation Company and expresses Russell's concern that he will be in financial difficulty if his payments are further reduced. The letter explains the monthly payments that Russell needs to receive to sustain his present rate of progress on the ship and requests Brunel look into the matter for him.
