TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to W. Carpmael
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains to Carpmael that Brunel is about to attach to the engine of his big ship a governor, designed and constructed by Sir Marc Brunel several years previously but that Brunel has learned of a recent patent of a similar design. Brunel explains that he has no wish to evade a patent and requests Carpmael conduct a search for Sir Marc Brunel's patent for Improvements in Marine Engines.
