| Title | Letter from John Scott Russell to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from 37 Great George Street, Westminster, London. The letter explains that Mr Martin expects an immediate payment which is now overdue in connection with his agreement with Brunel and requests that Brunel forward Russell a certificate. The letter also mentions some problems that have delayed work on the paddle wheel engine which means that he is requesting a smaller payment for his work on the engines than otherwise. The letter also comments on an enclosed document listing the quantities of iron delivered to the shipyard since January that year. |
