TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to John Scott Russell
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter remarks that Brunel had forgotten to ask if Russell had set in train the calculation of the centres of gravity that Brunel has wanted for some time since there are continual questions that need this information in order to be answered. The letter also asks why the monthly returns of the iron delivered to the shipyard have been discontinued and requests their return. The letter remarks that Brunel has determined not to raise the screw shaft and that he has made several other decisions about the keel and the stern post and wishes that he had never altered his original plan for the screw and rudder and encloses a sketch for how the keel might be strengthened.
