The letter agrees to have a small quantity of the deck planks prepared with Jackson's solution and see what the process costs Jackson before seeing if the price will be suitable for larger quantities later on. Brunel queries the expense of Jackson's process and recommends some prices at which Brunel thinks Jackson may be able to make a profit and which he thinks companies might be prepared to pay.
