| Description | Written from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter requests Claxton consider the proposed arrangement for the interior of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship which Brunel and Claxton discussed and give his opinions. The letter lists some of Brunel's ideas for the internal arrangement and how this might be effected. The letter also describes the officers' accommodation describing how many rooms will be needed for the different officers, their dimensions, how many officers can be accommodated in each room and how this might fit with the other internal arrangements of the ship, for example the hawse holes. There also sketches on Folio 262 sketching out the proposed arrangement of rooms on two decks of the ship. |
