Letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to the Directors of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company
Description
Written from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The letter updates the directors on the progress on the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ship, describes the situation with regards to the payments that have been and are still to be made to John Scott Russell for his work on the ship. The letter details the parts of the ship that have been worked on since Brunel's last report to the Directors and describes the other decisions that Brunel has made and the work that he has done with calculations for the weight of the ship and lists the cost of the screw propeller and the bearing and framework in the stern and John Scott Russell's estimate for the cost of the paddles. The letter also comments on the decisions that must be made by the directors with regard to the cabin fittings.
