Title
Letter from Mr Andrews of the North of Europe Steam Navigation Company to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
Description
Written from North of Europe Steam Navigation Co, 84 King William Street. The letter confirms that the North of Europe Steam Navigation Company's ship the Levant did use a very successful apparatus for distilling fresh aerated water from seawater but that Andrews does not know Mr Riddle's distilling apparatus by the name that Brunel used. The letter gives details of the person who fitted the apparatus and advises Brunel that Andrews thinks a similar apparatus would be good if fitted in his large ship.
