Written from 18 Duke Street, Westminster, London. The memorandum covers the mode of launching and requests a sketch of the launching ways and the calculation of the exact weight of the vessel at the time of launching and the weights of the engines and boilers. The memorandum also covers the painting of the ship and the need to decide on the exact colours and number of coats of paint, the need to draw up a detailed estimate of the weight and cost of the paddle and screw, the need for drawings and an estimate of the weight and cost of the paddle boxes and the need to decide on ways of removing, adjusting and replacing the main after bearing of the screw shaft.
