| Description | Written from the Ordnance Laboratory, [Royal] Arsenal, [Woolwich, London]. The letter thanks Jacomb for his letter and asks for a copy of the report on his experiments into the inflammability of wood. Dent apologises that he does not believe, since he only witnessed a small portion of the experiments, that his notes will be of much assistance to Brunel but comments that he observed that the hardness or softness of the wood significantly affects the flammability and his observations about the possible effect of paint on wood. |
