| Title | Letter from C. Claxton to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
| Description | Written from The Priory. The letter discusses the various discussions that Claxton has had with different sail makers and his opinions of various different designs and plans for the sails and rigging, including those of Mr Rowett and Mr Cunningham, and remarks that he has come to the opinion that there are no new plans that are as good as the old ones with regard to their possible use in the big ship. Claxton mentions that Mr Cunningham's plans may be partly suitable but are not completely suitable and promises to discuss the plans with Brunel when he returns to London. |
