TitleLetter from C. A. Hohn of John Bourne & Co to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionWritten from John Bourne & Co, Greenock. The letter mentions that, since Hohn's last communication with Brunel, he has attained good results of a trial of his experimental screw propeller in vessels built by John Bourne & Co and announces that some French government ships will shortly be making sea trials of his screw propeller. The letter describes some of the results of these experiments and offers to give Brunel or John Scott Russell any information or assistance that they might need to run their own trials of his propeller. Hohn also asks for some details of Brunel's leviathan steam ship so that he can draw a plan specifically for Brunel's ship.
