|Written from 37 Great George Street, London. The letter confirms that Russel has begun preliminary preparations for the work on the Eastern Steam Navigation Company's ships and has carried out Brunel's instructions relating to the construction of the ship and the engine. Russell also mentions his willingness to acceed to the various conditions that might be included in the contract with the Eastern Steam Navigation Company. There is a pencil annotation at the head of the letter confirming the writer.
