Title | Letter from Joshua Field to Isambard Kingdom Brunel |
Description | Written from Lambeth, London. The letter explains that Field does not have a model for a jury rudder or paddles that could be attached to the stern of a ship for steering but that Field's business partner Mr Maudslay took out a patent for a similar device which was tested on a small steam ship. Field offers his opinions as to the utility of such a device and describes how Maudslay intended the device to work. |
