Description | Written from 18 Duke Street, London. The letter describes Brunel's progress on the designs for the ship and his correspondence with various engineering firms relating to the designs for the ship's engines. The letter also requests the Directors' permission to communicate with various people who might later wish to tender for part of the construction work to enable Brunel to get estimates for the costs of part of the ship to pass on to the Directors.
