The letter thanks Brunel for his interest in Braidwood's design for a Steam Floating Fire Engine and describes some of the key statistics relating to his design including the type of nozzles he used, the height of water put out, the pump rate, the water pressure and the steam pressure as well as the dimensions of the boat and its engines. The letter also describes the improved performance that Braidwood intends to achieve with his new design.
