Description	Written from 18 Duke Street, London. The letter asks if Brunel can keep C. Piazzi Smyth's letter and requests that May give Smyth carte blanche with his experiments on naval instruments and mentions the experiments that Brunel himself wants to make on naval observation instruments and his opinions on the changes that Smyth is making to his instruments. The letter is illustrated with two sketches demonstrating some of the points that Brunel mentions.
