Title | Letter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to John Yates, secretary of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company |
Description | Written from 18 Duke Street, London. The letter confirms that Brunel is satisfied with the progress that John Scott Russell has made on the engines of the great steam ship and is willing to authorise Russell's payment and wonders what to do about Henry Wollaston Blake's lack of request for similar payment. The letter offers two suggestions as to how to proceed and wonders which is the better way in order both to stick to the contract and reflect Brunel's dissatisfaction with Watt & Co's work. |
