Description	Written from 18 Duke Street, London. The letter explains how the results of Brunel's various enquiries into the water conditions in Calcutta [Kolkata] that might affect the draft of their ship and the farthest navigable point of the river Hoogley for a ship of the size that Brunel plans. The letter also mentions Brunel's experiments in likely ship design, size and capacity. There are two pencil annotations at the head of the letter describing the topics of the letter.
