Description | Written from 18 Duke Street, London. The original letter accompanied sketches of the rigging that Brunel proposed for the ship, requests Russell's thoughts and observations and describes Brunel's proposals and the reasons behind them and mentions that Brunel consulted Captain Claxton about the masts and rigging and used Claxton's opinions to adjust his plans. Brunel particularly lists two questions which he would like Russell to consider relating to the rigging. |
