The letter answers Brunel's various questions about how best to prevent the leakage of gas or gas smells, the best way of testing gas pipes for leakage, the best way of laying gas pipes and also gives Ledger's opinions as to the relative benefits of Camel (or Cannel) Coal Gas over alternative types of gas and suggests ways that the stowage or gas holder room might be lit. There is a pencil annotation on Folio 203 correcting a word. |
