| Description | The signature was originally the last part of the resolution on Folios 17-18 recording Brunel's appointment as Chief engineer for the ship-building project and authorising Brunel to secure tenders for various building materials. The subsequent insertion of Folio 18a (a letter from Richard Roberts to the Chairman and Directors of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company) left the original signature stranded and so this part of the original entry has been crossed through and the details copied at the end of Folio 18. |
