TitleLetter from Isambard Kingdom Brunel to John Scott Russell
DescriptionWritten from 18 Duke Street, London. The letter assures Russell that payment will be done properly, according to the contract and suggests a way that they might confirm agreed-on elements in the plans for the ship. The letter also mentions that Brunel has suggested a small alteration to the casting of the engine frame and Brunel's opinions of the plans for the plates and framing of the ship's hull, which he considers may have sacrificed some of the cabin space in favour of a more uniform arrangement of the hull plates but mentions the ways that he has tried to alleviate this. The letter also mentions that Brunel is still awaiting an answer to his letter about the experimental anthracite coal boiler experiments as well as the plans to be attached to the contract. The page has been hand-numbered as Folio 180i in the the top outside corner of the page while the reverse of the page is un-numbered although it is written on. The facing page (reverse of Folio 180h) is blank.
