The letter follows a resolution passed by the Directors of the Eastern Steam Navigation Company at a meeting and requests specific proposals from the various firms relating to their plans for the projected large steam ship that Brunel is embarking upon and sets out the information and drawings that Brunel would like them to provide in order for him to make a decision on which firm to select.
