The letter mentions the screw-boat that Brunel has heard that Russell is building for the North of Europe and offers Brunel's advice as to the best design to be used which could also be used as an experiment for the Eastern Steam Navigation Company and Brunel's ship design. The letter is accompanied by a sketch on Folio 122 illustrating one of Brunel's points about the about the positioning of the screw and screw shaft relative to the rudder. |
