TitleLetter from H. Wollaston Blake to Isambard Kingdom Brunel
DescriptionThe letter explains that Blake has not been able to look out the information that Brunel wanted about examples of well-known, well-performing ship's engines, but suggests that generally, the larger the vessel the better the performance of the engine and offering what Blake considers to be safe estimates as to the consumption rate of coal and speed for an engine of a given size.
