The cartoons feature a penguin sitting in an armchair reading a book surrounded by piles of books, and a penguin dressed as a chef carrying a tray of food and wine. The cartoons were used to illustrate an invitation and menu (designed by Jerry Cinamon) for a dinner held at the Royal Academy, Burlington House, on 21 April 1976 in honour of Hans Schmoller on his retirement as Production Manager of Penguin Books. |
